Comfy casual style!

I wasn't feeling very well but I like to be prepared just in case... I decide to go out or someone stops by the house! :0)

A Touch of Colour!

I love my floral tights but the weather is still a little too chilly at times in London to wear them. However, with the purple tights underneath they are as thick as leggings which means I can wear shorts! Yay! So ready for summer!

Trends of 2010 - Florals

(Photo from Company March 2010)

Every designer has their own version of this never ending trend. Try on a few different color combinations and pattern sizes to see which you like best!

Here are some of my favorites:

Forever 21
Floral Stamped Denim Dress
$24.80

The small all over pattern makes this dress a less overwhelming version of the trend.

Miss Selfridge
Floral Placement Vest
£20.00

Try this tee version because graphic tees never go out of style and are really easy to dress up!

Jane Norman
Embellished Floral Mini skirt
£28.00

These colors work for all seasons making this item very versatile!

If you're not sure about the floral trend start with smaller, inexpensive pieces like tights, bags and jewelery!

Miss Selfridge
Grey Floral X-Body Bag
£18.00

Miss Selfridge
Floral Bouquet Ring
£6.00

My Favorite:
TopShop
Dip Dyed Floral Ruffle Skirt
£35.00

Love it! It’s super girly and purple! ^_^

It's me! Tim Burton's Mad Hatter obviously likes bright colors and so do I. This is actually a bright floral dress but today I'm wearing it as a skirt.

Tell me how you're working the floral trend into your wardrobe! =)

Celebrity Style ->

Tim Burton once again delivers with his distinct style, recreating a classic story by giving it a surreal twist. In honour of Tim Burton’s latest creation, I’m dedicating this week to all things “Alice in Wonderland”.

Featured in the film is Avril Lavigne’s haunting song “Alice”.

(photo from here)

When we were first introduced to Avril, it was all anti-pop attitude, skate boards and tees. These days Avril appears to be embracing her girly side.

 (photo from here and here)

Punk goes Pretty in pink tulle, fishnet stockings and converse sneakers!

Tell me what you think. Do you like Avril's style?

New to the scene is Daisy Dares You with her debut single “Number One Enemy”

I love the look of the video! The ruffled blue skirt and knee high boots seem "Alice in Wonderland" inspired while still remaining fashionable.

Get to know Daisy Behind the Scenes

I really like the flowers around her ankle and she’s got a great sound! =)

Oscars 2010 Best and Worst Dressed

It’s that time of year again and the Oscars are back! One of the biggest nights of the year, we all tune in for one reason… to see what everyone is wearing!

Let’s start with the ladies who missed the bill. Just more proof that a designer name and overly paid stylist do not equal a winning look.

Worst Dressed

Oh dear! Diane Kruger, who starred in the hilarious “Inglorious Basterds” along side the devilishly handsome Brad Pitt, fell flat in this Chanel gown. Generally a classic label like Chanel would be a safe bet but this really should have been a pass. The ruffles in the midsection make this dress too busy. Less is more. Better luck next time Diane.

In this Givenchy dress by Riccardo Tisci, Zoe Saldana can only be described as a “hot mess”! There is nothing about this dress that works except maybe the color… and that’s a pretty big MAYBE. It’s hitting all of the trend marks too hard. Sequin, check, high waist line, check, ruffles, check, but all together, FAIL! Remember that just because something is trendy, doesn’t mean it automatically works together. You have to look at the outfit as a whole! Lucky for Zoe she’s beautiful.

Honorable Mention

Vera Farmiga, walked the red carpet in a Magenta Marchesa gown which looked great from one angle… and horrible from the next. Tip: a 360 view of your outfit is a must if you plan on having photos taken. Sorry Vera, loved you in “Up in the Air”.

Maggie Gyllenhaal selected a vintage Van Noten gown in blue, black and white. While it’s a lovely gown, in one of my favourite colors from last season, it pales in comparison to the other gowns on the red carpet.

With its smooth satin bodice and a glittering, full, flowing skirt, Miley Cyrus gets high points in this Jenny Packham number. However, it feels more prom then Oscars.

(Photo from DailyMail)
Kristen Stewart, our favourite vampire loving actress, wore an inky black Monique Lhuillier creation. The mermaid cut of the gown is perfect for accentuating Kristen’s modest curves and I love the liquid look of the material. Unfortunately, Kristen looks awkward and uncomfortable which distracts from the beauty of the gown. Tip: Tell your self you look fantastic! It will improve your posture which instantly makes you look better.

Amanda Seyfried, looked ready to walk down the isle in an elegant Armani Prive’ number. This choice shows a definite sense of style but needs a little polish. A more dramatic hair style would have added to the impact of the dress. It’s missing the wow factor that says I’m a Hollywood star.

Best Dressed

(Photo from DailyMail)

Sandra Bullock looked like she’d been dipped in gold in a form fitting Marchesa gown, reminiscent of the old Hollywood era. This dress had the perfect balance between the embroidered flowers and sleek fitting skirt. Well done!

(Photo from DailyMail)
Demi Moore’s tone on tone Versace gown was gorgeous and fun. Form fitted from the bust through the hips, with a ruffled skirt and high split, the dress would usually be better suited to someone in their twenties. However, since Demi Moore still has the body of a twenty year old this dress looks incredible on her.

Anna Kendrick, George Clooney’s costar in “Up in the Air”, was enchanting in an Elie Saab number. A classic example of the beauty of an Elie Saab creation, the dress cascades over Anna’s body giving her an ethereal quality. I especially like the lace detailing along the split.

Jennifer Lopez, who never misses a fashion mark, achieved what Amanda Seyfried could only attempt. A flawless balance between elegance and drama, she looked simply amazing in her Armani Prive’ gown!

In organza and chiffon this Elie Saab number practically floats around Rachel McAdams. The sheer volume of the material could have made this dress look very heavy but with its muted tones it captures a dream like quality. She looks like the living embodiment of Monet’s “Water Lillies”. Easily my FAVOURITE gown of the night!

Well that’s it, at least for another year. Hope you enjoyed the fashion as much as I did! =)
