WISH LIST: Urban Outfitters

Shortly after graduating college I learnt that the easiest way for me to avoid blowing my entire paycheck was to stay far far away from the mall. When I moved home to Bermuda I applied the same concept. If I could stay out of town and away from the tempation of Gibbons and AS Cooper I could avoid counting pennies at the end of the month. However, this concept is twice as hard to apply to ONLINE SHOPPING.  So many stores now have their entire stock available online, as well as the all alluring "exclusive online sales" section. Staying on a budget in these difficult economic times has trully become a task. How do you resist when you don't even have to leave home to shop? I could do it day, night, even in my pajamas... the WISH LIST! Basically the wish list is what I would buy if I had unlimited funds and no real responsibilities. Lol,  if only!

Two Looks, Two Budgets feat. Golden Yellow!

I love H&M! No matter what your budget or style, you can always find something to suit both! (Oh and the fit of H&M clothing is impeccable!)

Here are two looks I created using H&M's fabulous website.

I started with the yellow skirt and paired it with a silky blouse and heels to dress it up. A wide belt to accentuate the waist and tasseled heels that give it an ethnic feel.
For an office look, try a pair of conservative pumps and maybe a jacket.
Be glam in a golden toned beaded tunic and a pair of sexy heels!
If the summer nights get a little chilly, pair this with some skinny jeans!

Well that was fun! =)
Has anyone else created looks using H&M's website?

Makeup Look & OoTD -> Mad Men!

The inspiration for my look today is Joan Harris, a character on the AMC television series Mad Men. As Office Manager and resident "Queen Bee" the best way to describe her look is "pristine".
Introducing Joan

Here are the products I used.
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
Natural Collection loose powder
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara
Revlon Liquid Liner
L'Oreal Lipstick in Pink Passion
Natural Collection Lipgloss in Turkish Delight

OoTD (Loving the 60's secretarial look!)
Black Bandeau dress from Forever21
Pink Sweater from H&M
A Single String of Pearls
Gold Buckle Black Belt from Primark
Black Heels by Anne Klein

What I love about Joan's look is that it carefully treads the line between poised and sexy. She always creates silhouettes that accentuate the female form without showing too much skin. Her style reaffirms the character's strongest traits, very much in control without being overly aggressive.

The look has an overall smooth complexion, natural eye with a slight wing tipped liner, and a bright pink lip.

Coordinating nail color in Sunrise Sensation by Colorama (Maybelline) completes the look.

While every hair is in place when Joan attends work functions, for more social occasions she lets her hair down.

Well that was fun. Hope you liked it! Bye! =)

OoTD (Outfit of the Day) - White Tunic Top 3 Different Ways!

I was headed to the beach when I decided to do a little OoTD. Hope you like it!
Mix bright whites with warm caramels for a chic look!
White tunic top
Dark denim capris
Caramel heels & leather handbag
Gold jewelry to accessorize
Wide band gold butterfly bracelet.
Investing in stylish basics will always make your wardrobe more versatile.
I have this tunic in red as well. If you find something that compliments you, get it in a few different colors.
Try light denim shorts for a more casual look.
Choose clothing that flatters or highlights your best features. I love showing off one of my best features, my legs!
Last but not least, wear it alone as a cover-up to the beach or a pool party!
You'll look great whether you're in the water or just lounging around.
Finally made it to the beach!
Ahh there's nothing like a beautiful Bermuda day!
 Bye guys! =)

Birthday Weekend! (Part 1)

Birthday Haul!
Just some bits and pieces I got for my birthday!
Yay! Another floral dress! =)
I've been wearing this brand of jeans since college, love the fit!
 So excited to wear this!

Tops & shorts, a staple in summertime attire when you live on an island.

This jewelry would have complimented my outfit in Brunch with Friends perfectly!

 Does this look familiar?
The great thing about having a fashion blog is that your friends and family don't have to guess what items you're lusting over. I blogged about this clutch in Shopping @ Sail On and my friend Shanty bought it for my bday! Thanks Shanty! *hugs*

Side Note: This clutch really is the perfect size! It can easily hold credit card, cash, id, lipgloss, lipstick, cellphone, compact mirror, keys and more.

Outfit of the Day!

Cream ruffled blouse, dark demin capris & cream heels! Tres Chic!

Check back tomorrow for Part 2!

Thursday Trends -> New Nudes!

(Photo from Company Magazine March 2010)

Think light creams and pale pinks...

I purchased this top from Forever21 in February 2009 because I liked the embroidery detail on the front. Usually when I buy a new item I think about what other things in my wardrobe it will compliment. However, this was an “impulse buy”, something I try to avoid. So for months it just sat in my closet, taking up space. I wasn’t sure if the color, a pale pink/nude, truly suited my complexion. I was even less sure of the shape. Baggy/loose fitting items tend to make small people look even smaller. Not exactly what I was going for. But then I pulled it out one day and decided to build an outfit around it. That’s what I do, I pick an item to start with, a top, or shoes, maybe a dress and I pull out other things that might work with it. I like matching up nudes with blacks and dark greys to balance it out. Now it’s one of my favourite tops!

For Fall pair with jeans or thigh high socks!

Boots or sneakers! (Yes I own sneakers! lol)

For Summer pair with caged black heels!

Don't forget your shades!

For a casual day around the house, ballet slippers are a must!

This is also my outfit of the day. Hope you like it! =)
