WISH LIST: Urban Outfitters

Shortly after graduating college I learnt that the easiest way for me to avoid blowing my entire paycheck was to stay far far away from the mall. When I moved home to Bermuda I applied the same concept. If I could stay out of town and away from the tempation of Gibbons and AS Cooper I could avoid counting pennies at the end of the month. However, this concept is twice as hard to apply to ONLINE SHOPPING.  So many stores now have their entire stock available online, as well as the all alluring "exclusive online sales" section. Staying on a budget in these difficult economic times has trully become a task. How do you resist when you don't even have to leave home to shop? I could do it day, night, even in my pajamas... the WISH LIST! Basically the wish list is what I would buy if I had unlimited funds and no real responsibilities. Lol,  if only!

Gossip Girl Obsession! - Belles de Jour

It's the start of the new sitcom season and I'm already behind, eek!
Oh well, FABULOUS can never be rushed!

(Photo from Gossip Girl Fan)

Gossip Girl starts off this season in PARIS, one of the most chic cities in the world. Filled with romance and whimsy, Blair's Oscar de la Renta dress mimics the feel of this trend-setting city. I love the warm hues, flirty skirt and embroidered waist line. Posed in front of a painting, she's as pretty as a picture! lol

Gibbons Fashion Show!

Saturday, May 22nd, Gibbons Company hosted an in-store event showcasing some of their latest summer styles. Here are a few of the outfits I loved!
Jumpsuit, playsuit, romper, whatever you want to call it, this little number is everywhere. This throwback has made a comeback in a huge way!
Pair chinos with a floral top for a cool casual look.
You already know I love a floral dress! =)
Quintessential Bermuda Style at it's best! I love men in pink!
This classic look is hard to do wrong. Perfect for a first date! If you are feeling especially bold, throw on a bright pair of heels in red or yellow!
The key item to achieving this look is the long blouse. Switch out the dark blazer for a lighter one and try colored shorts to personalize the look.
I really enjoyed the show and can't wait for the next! They even had snacks!

...and across the street @ Brown & Co. Sabor Dance School was putting on a little demonstration.
Here members of Sabor teach customers a dance called Diski!

Birthday Weekend! (Part 2)

A night out with the girls...
*    *    *
The show was held at the Liberty theatre.

It looked to be a pretty interesting line up, with part proceeds going to charity.
The show started with a skit, The Reunion, which unfortunately fell a little flat for me.
Intermission was spent exploring the Farmer's Market setup in the hall.
Next the clothes...the real reason I wanted to attend.
Men's fashion featuring shirts with graphic designs.
Ladies in bright prints.
Long and short....
But the best part of the show was definitely the kids!
They showed the most personality...
...giving us that catwalk attitude!

(Side note: There was also a lingerie section featuring Secrets and a sexy Tango presentation by Sabor Dance School. Sorry no pics.)
Overall, I loved the idea of the show but the execution was a little sloppy. Hopefully if they do another it will be more organized.

From there my friends and I went club hopping. Here's my Outfit of the Night!
Black dress with cutout floral print from Jane Norman.

Gossip Girl OBSESSION - Lace!

(Blair wearing Black Lace Dress in the pilot episode from Gossip Girl Fan)

Everyone needs a vice and Gossip Girl is mine (that and coffee)! From the moment the show started in 2007 I’ve eagerly anticipated every episode anxious to see what the characters are wearing each week. With Blair’s sophisticated vintage looks and Serena’s casual glamour I was hooked!

With lace appearing everywhere this season, crossing trends and styles, I was reminded of a particular lace number Blair wore in the pilot episode. Inspired, I went in search of my own lace dress @ New Look.

From the front, a classic lace dress but with a TWIST! The back dips dangerously low and I’m really surprised I got this shot without my pink underwear showing. My advice if you’re going to a more formal affair, wear this with a tailored jacket in satin. If seduction is your plan, pair it with some killer heels, your hair up and perhaps a simple chain that hangs down your back.

While black is classic, lace is now available in all colors giving it a fresh new look. This one fit perfectly and also had a scoop back but was definitely a mini! If you’d prefer to be a little more covered complete this sleek look with a pair of leggings or jeggings and some ankle boots.

Combination, classic black lace and color! This dress had a very straight cut which just didn’t work on my petite frame but the bow detail in the back was adorable!

A look always has to be tailored to the individual and this dress was my favorite! A v-neck is always flattering if you have a smaller bust and the cinched waist accentuates my curves. Felt like a party as soon as I put it on. I also like the versatility of this dress. It could easily work for so many different styles. Pair it with biker boots and a leather bomber jacket for a more punk look. Pair it with some sexy stilettos, a cute clutch and your ready for cocktails!

Shopping @

Designer style without a designer price tag!

(^_^ Me in the changing room @ Jane Norman!)

Animal Bandeau Tulip Dress

Being of the small bust demographic I’ve always been a bit nervous about the bandeau dress, they just never seem to fit properly. This one does! The tone on tone animal print is fun without being over the top!

Multi Geo Print 2 in 1 Vest Dress

Tulip Dresses are every where these days and very figure flattering! Love the blue, black & white pattern!

Tuxedo Satin Lapel Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit was just too hot to put back! All the sex appeal of a mini without any of the concerns that you’re flashing people. Can’t wait to wear it out! :D

Lust Worthy Item

Smudge Floral Tulip Mini Skirt! The colors are really vibrant and fun!

If you've never been to Jane Norman, what are you waiting for! If you're like me and find yourself in there at least once a week, email me, we'll form a support group. Maybe the store will give us a group discount! :)

According to Glamour – Double Duty Dressing

(Glamour Magazine November 2009)

Loving this look on Taylor (in black) and Peaches (in blue), who have adhered to a similar color palette. Unfortunately, though I love Fearne, I don’t love her version of this look. With the blue plaid top and animal print skirt it’s just too much pattern. What do you think, is this look a DO?

Outfits that work for spring, summer, fall & winter!

One of the worst parts of moving is packing! However, it was during that agonizing process that I realized how much stuff I have. After painstakingly assessing my wardrobe, several trips to Salvation Army to drop off clothes, a large trash bag of stuff given to one of my besties, I still had 7 huge suitcases full of clothes. I should be slapped if I ever utter the words “I have nothing to wear!” So here was my dilemma, what to take and what to leave behind? It was painful to say the least. Some of my favorite clothes are my summer dresses and I just couldn’t leave them. Thankfully, with a few simple additions I can wear them in winter too!

Ok, here are two of my favorite summer dresses that I got from WetSeal. Fashion tip - If you find something you really like, that fits and looks good on you, buy it in a few different colors.

Belt from Primark, Pink H&M Sweater, Wool blazer (can't remember where I got it) and Ankle Boots from Barratts.

First photo was sort of a joke because if you didn't notice it's a pair of tights twisted into a "flower." Still looks cute! The vest I got from Gibbons in Bermuda and the purple top from Primark. The heels, another favorite, my mom got for me through her bridal boutique.

Add boots, leg warmers (love them!), tights or jeans and you're all set! With the addition of just a few items your favorite summer clothes can double as winter attire. Oh and a decent coat, but I figured you already knew that.

(Dancing between photos! :P) Thanks for stopping by!
